☉ 盘根究底 【pánɡēnjiūdǐ】
　　[ ask in detail ] 详细盘问，查清底细，弄清根由。
　　例： 被小山盘根问底，今日也谈，明日也谈，腹中所有若干故典，久己告竣。——清·李汝珍《镜花缘》

☉ 穷根究底 【qiónɡɡēnjiūdǐ】
　　[ inquire thoroughly into… get to the bottom of things ] 追究事物的根底。
　　例： 他穷根究底地问个没完

☉ 寻根究底 【xúnɡēnjiūdǐ】
　　[ get to the bottom of things inquire deeply into ] 寻求和追究事物的根底。

☉ 追根究底 【zhuīɡēnjiūdǐ】
　　[ get to the root of the matter ] 追究底细。一般指追究事情的原由。也作“寻根究底”、“追根刨底”、“追根问底”。
