☉ 百闻不如一见 【bǎiwénbùrúyījiàn】
　　[ it is better to see once than to hear a hundred times ] 听百次不如见一次，表示眼见比耳听靠得住。

☉ 不如 【bùrú】
　　[ not up to;inferior to ] 表示前面提到的人或事物比不上后面所说的。
　　例： 天时不如地利。——《孟子·公孙丑下》
　　例： 自以为不如。——《战国策·齐策》

☉ 耳闻不如目见 【ěrwénbùrúmùjiàn】
　　[ seeing for oneself is better than hearing from others ] 耳听的不如眼见的真实。
　　例： 耳闻不如目见，吾曹目见何可共辨。——《魏书·崔浩传》

☉ 恭敬不如从命 【ɡōnɡjìnɡbùrúcónɡmìnɡ】
　　[ Obedience is better than politeness ] 遵命顺从是最恭敬的表示 谦词，遵命，从命。

☉ 今不如昔 【jīnbùrúxī】
　　[ the present cannot compare with the past ] 如今比不上往惜。多用作对某事的感慨叹息。

☉ 临渊羡鱼，不如退而结网 【línyuānxiànyú，bùrútuìérjiéwǎnɡ】
　　[ It is better to return home and weave net than standing by water and admiring fishes one should take practical steps to achieve one's aims It is hard to catch birds with an empty hand It is vain to fish without a hook, or read without a book ] 比喻空怀壮志，不如实实在在地付诸于行动。

☉ 自愧不如 【zìkuìbùrú】
　　[ consider oneself inferior to another feel ashamed of one's inferiority ] 惭愧自己不如别人。

☉ 耳闻不如眼见 【ěr wén bù rú yǎn jiàn】
　　● 听到的不如看到的真实可靠。比喻亲身感受比传闻可靠。
　　例： 《旧唐书•辛替否传》：“臣尝以为古之用度不时，爵赏不当，破家亡国者，口说不如身逢，耳闻不如眼见。”
　　例： 明·吴承恩《西游记》第48回：口说无凭，耳闻不如眼见。我背了马，且请师父亲去看看。
